I am vegetarian, will I starve on your trips?

Absolutely not. Without fail, we have at least a handful of vegetarians and vegans on every trip we run.

There are typically a wide array of options available for folks with no meat or animal product diets.

What sort of fitness is required to join?

This depends on the trip in question. Generally speaking, you do not need superhuman fitness to join or enjoy a trip.

Because all of our journeys are active adventures, we encourage our clients to have basic fitness and enjoy spending time outdoors.

Do you rent personal gear (sleeping bags, down jackets, etc.)?

The short answer is no, we do not rent gear or equipment. If a sleeping bag appears on the packing list, you should bring your own.

In some countries we travel to, it may be possible to rent selected personal equipment locally.

Is Pakistan safe for Americans?

Pakistan is generally safe for American, UK, European, and other international travelers joining organized trips.

We have never had guests denied entry or a visa because of nationality, and our operations are built around safety-first planning.

What is the average demographic of your clients?

Our groups are highly international, often made up of 5 to 8 different nationalities on a single trip.

We have seen a near-equal mix of men and women over the years. Average participant age is around 35, with guests ranging from 19 to 74.

Where is Karakoram Ascents based?

Karakoram Ascents is a licensed international operation without a single fixed physical office.

Our staff is distributed across regions so we can stay close to routes, local partners, and on-ground logistics.
